About C++
C++ (pronounced "see plus plus") is a free, general-purpose, object-oriented, compiled programming language. It was designed for use in system programming and embedded, resource-constrained, low-level, and large systems that require high performance and efficiency.
It was designed by Bjarne Stroustrup and released in 1985. His work on "C with Classes" became "C++". As of 2017, C++ remains the third most popular programming language, behind Java and C. Many other programming languages have since been influenced by C++ including C#, D, Java, Perl and PHP.
